The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a new report calling for stronger ethics oversight of AI-related health research.
The report highlights the need to address risks related to transparency, bias, fairness, accountability, privacy and potential harm, while strengthening the capacity of ethics committees and other stakeholders to assess AI-related research.
It provides recommendations covering the full research lifecycle, from study design and ethics review through publication, regulation and implementation, and identifies roles for researchers, regulators, funders, data-governance bodies and other stakeholders.
