Moonpig’s use of AI to design and personalize cards drives up sales

Moonpig says that between May and 31 October 2025 (six-month period), its sales rose 6.7% to £169 million

  • Pre-tax result swung from a £33.3 million loss in the previous period to a £26.6 million profit.
  • Roughly half of all purchases now use AI-driven tools (stickers, photos, personalized handwriting), compared with only ~2% two years ago.
  • The company’s AI-powered customer service handles approximately one-third of all queries, with those AI-handled interactions rated more highly than human ones.
  • According to CEO, AI is enabling higher productivity — generating dozens of card-design options per day (instead of only a few) — while keeping human curation to avoid generic output.
