AI Detects Dyslexia

Researchers at the University at Buffalo have developed an AI-powered handwriting analysis tool to help detect early signs of dyslexia and dysgraphia in children.

By analyzing spelling errors, letter spacing, writing speed, and pen pressure, the system flags behavioral indicators that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Why it matters: Early detection means timely intervention — and this approach is faster, more scalable, and less costly than traditional screenings.

It also opens the door to adapting AI-driven learning support across languages and education systems worldwide.
